Humane Mouse Trap
Even if you are an animal lover, unwanted rodents in your home are a major problem. Mice, rats and other rodents can damage your home, property and cause health issues for you and your family. When you want to eliminate a pest problem without killing the furry intruders, you need a humane mouse trap. Traditional spring-loaded traps are designed to kill mice and rats. In fact, these devices snap the spine of the rodents that they trap. As cruel as that can be in and of itself, these devices often fail to kill the rodent on impact, leaving it to suffer for several hours. Fortunately, there are other options available.
The most common humane mouse trap is a cage trap. This product is pretty much what you would expect. It is simply a metal cage with a small opening, armed with a door-closing trigger mechanism. In other words, when the rodent enters the trap, it triggers the door to close and becomes trapped inside. This allows the owner to remove the rodent from their home and release it at a location of their choice. The trap is simple to set and only requires some type of bait before it is ready to go. These traps are every bit as effective at attracting rodents as lethal devices, only instead of removing a dead rodent, you are releasing a live one.
In some ways, a humane mouse trap can be more convenient. When a rodent is caught by a spring-loaded trap, the results can be a bit messy. The traps can often cut the rodent, leaving a bloody mess to clean up. After the clean-up process, the trap has to be re-baited and reset. For some larger traps, this process can be dangerous. Larger mouse traps have enough force to cut, and in some cases, break your finger. Meanwhile, non-lethal cage traps simply require a new piece of bait once the captured rodent is released.
Most of the time, mice, rats and other rodents are unwanted intruders in households. For health purposes and other reasons, rodent problems need to be eliminated as soon as possible. However, this does not mean that the rodent causing the problems has to be killed. By using a humane mouse trap, you can eliminate the problem without killing the animal. If you are someone that cares about the safety of animals, these humane devices are for you.
